At 2100 hours on the 31st August 2020, Immersub principals received a phone call alert regarding the sinking of a port tug boat in the north east of Mauritius. In less than an hour, the two brothers mobilized to the north to help the coast guards in the rescue operations. The stormy weather on this day was scary, with wind over 5 BFT and 4 m swell from the NE. The Rochecouste brothers found a local boat and provided the coast guard with a VHF for a better coordination of the rescue operation.
From 1100 to 0600 in the morning, the brothers searched for survivors and managed to save the life of two seafarers, and unfortunately had to recover two dead bodies. Immersub team would like to express its sincere condolences to the families.
